After you have finished testing, immediately wipe down everything with warm water and a little soap, then rinse and dry for next use. The flotation solution crystallizes when it dries and will corrode the slide and other tools if not cleaned immediately after use. Your microscope is a precision instrument that needs to be kept clean but should never be “washed.” Be sure to cover your microscope with the dust cover when it isn’t in use.
